State housing heterotopias
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is based on Michel Foucault’s ideas about heterotopias, discourse and power. It analyzes gated communities as spaces that structure the actual historical period in which cities are developed. The authors propose the idea that social groups enclose themselves for fear of violence, but the housing spaces that result can be analyzed with the same keys that Foucault used to study psychiatric institutions and prisons.
