Participation and citizenship: african models and experiences for the West
Main Article Content
Abstract
The principal objective of this article is to reflect on the insufficiency of current Western political experience, using certain reflexive pretexts and some meaningful examples of different political traditions. To accomplish this, a method of philosophical analysis is used that takes into account two fundamental theoretical proposals, which, in different ways, discuss and recreate political experience in the West. The fundamental conclusion points to the need to revise our habitual political practices in order to promote a better quality of political participation and experience, as well as more involved citizens and societies with a greater capacity for collecting and integrating migrants and their communities.
