Research lines in the university context: economic and social development
Main Article Content
Abstract
Research lines as producers of knowledge for social and economic development, coupled with their vision in the academic context of universities, is a topic of unquestionable timeliness, especially in an age when governmental agencies that regulate research matters in Venezuela require the establishment of managerial and academic spaces whose organic goals in terms of knowledge production in university cloisters correspond with research areas and strategies indicated by the National Simon Bolívar Plan and the Organic Law of Science, Technology and Innovation. Thus, it is important to work out the importance of the research lines as knowledge producing organs geared toward what is social, with or without dependence on what is economic; also, it is unavoidably important to discuss the functioning of the research lines in the university context, which, in general, is the objective of this article.
