Abstract

The purpose of this article is to identify the contribution that an integrated management system can offer to university management, considering the idea of seeing universities as profitable businesses where the clients (internal and external) are taken into account. A documentary review was made regarding the variables of integrated management systems and emerging university management, taking into account parameters established in the international standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OSHAS 18001:2007. The result of said review made it possible to postulate that truly successful university management is that which establishes the disciplined application of control criteria, the principles already identified in the ISO and OSHA standards, of all management systems, so that it permits the development of competences for all members of the university in a harmonious, holistic and integrated manner.
