Corporate Social Responsibility and the Environment in Venezuela

Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to reflect about the corporate social responsibility of Venezuelan organizations regarding environmental issues as an appropriate tool for reducing the negative impact produced by com mer cial activity during the productive process. The study is framed in documentary research based on an analysis of the laws and other printed materials that contain information related to standards and principles that protect the environment. Conclusions are that the Venezuelan State, in its aspiration to main tain the ecological balance, has designed environmental legislation that, although dispersed in many laws, is very de manding on legal entities regarding care for the environment. At the same time, it gives Venezuelan companies tools that al low them to make a socially responsible investment, adding value to their activities.
