Debate on environmental problems from economic science: environmental economics versus ecological economics
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article analyzes some of the main evaluations and debates in economics science regarding environmental problems in order to know their contributions and rationale, both from the perspective of their connection with the theory and their environmental rationality. A documentary review was used as methodology, from which two approaches emerge: environmental economics and ecological economics. It is concluded that this consists in the extension of the conceptual apparatus of the neoclassical approach to the study of the environment; while this one, aims at the reconstruction of the biophysical foundations of the economic process and the reworking of economic science.
